When we started the production of REUE we all knew that we would run into some challenges, one of the biggest ones was creating a European look with our Utah footage.  The photo above is a test at camera tracking and matte painting.  We had no budget to film outside of Utah, so we brought Germany to us!  Working with our cinematographers we kept the horizon line above the actors heads.  By doing this we are able to motion track and add in a matte painting to enhance the background.  Its coming along guys, be ready for the release of REUE this summer.  For more details check out our Fanpage.

REUE which is pronounced “Roya” is a word meaning Regret in German. We are shooting our short film in Utah mid-spring 2010. The film chronicles 2 American Soldiers who become stranded in occupied German territory after a supply operation is ambushed. The two surviving soldiers come face to face with the enemy and get to know him after capturing a lone German soldier. The three young soldiers learn soon they are connected more than they could have ever imagined and an ending that leaves you wondering….could I do that?

We are shooting the main scenes on 3 Panasonic HVX200s as well as one Canon 7D. We have already raised the money for the equipment; Video, Audio and Lighting. We are looking for some help coming up with funding for some CGI effects, Actors, Crew and location fees.
